Do you know that a person commits bigamy who, knowing that a marriage subsists between that person and another person, goes through another ceremony of marriage, whether in Ghana or elsewhere, with any other person? Such person commits the offence of misdemeanour and is liable to a term of imprisonment not exceeding 3 years. Sections 262 & 263 of Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29) and Section 296 (4) of Criminal and Other Offences (Procedure) Act, 1960 (Act 30).
