Do you know that a person who endeavours, directly or indirectly to influence the conduct of a public officer in respect of the duties of office, by a gift, promise, or prospect of a valuable consideration to be received by the public officer or by any other person, from any person commits the criminal offence of corrupting a public officer? Section 241 of Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29).
