Simon is a seasoned banking professional with over 20 years’ experience in the financial services sector in Ghana and parts of Africa.

He has a wealth of experience in Banking Operations, Foreign Operations, Structured Trade Finance, Retail Banking, Corporate Banking, Debt Recoveries, debt and capital raising and Risk Management.

Simon worked with GCB Limited for 5 years, Ecobank Ghana Limited and Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI) for almost 10 years. He was the Acting Country Risk Manager for Ecobank Sierra Leone and later the Country Risk Manager for Ecobank Gambia. Whilst with the Ecobank Group, he participated in Audit and Risk Reviews (ARR) in many Ecobank Affiliates across Africa.

He was the Chief Risk Officer of Heritage Bank Limited until the revocation of the bank’s license in January 2019. Prior to joining Heritage Bank, he was the General Manager, Risk Management, Compliance and Internal Controls and the Anti-Money Laundering Reporting Officer (AMLRO) for UT Bank Limited. He also had a one-year stint with Universal Merchant Bank (UMB) as Director, Enterprise Risk Management.

Simon holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and a master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA Finance) from University of Ghana. He also holds an LLB from University of London. He is a Chartered Banker and a Lawyer.
