Do you know that when an employee dies, the employer is mandated to give notice of the death to the nearest labour officer within three months after the occurrence of the death stating the circumstances of the death of the employee if they are known to the employer, failure which the employer commits an offence and is liable to a fine not exceeding GHC30,000? Sec 13(1,2&3) of Workmen’s Compensation Act, 1987 (P.N.D.C.L 187).
